Participant Rights

These aren't words sitting in a policy folder — they're how we work every day.

  • Choice and control

You decide what your supports look like, who supports you and what you'd like to do. You can change your mind.

  • Dignity and respect

You'll be spoken to as an adult, included in conversations about you, and treated with respect at all times.

  • Privacy

Your information is kept private and only shared with your consent or where the law requires it.

  • Safety

You have the right to feel safe and to be free from abuse, neglect, exploitation and discrimination.

  • Communication support

You have the right to information in a way that works for you, and to use whatever communication method suits you.

  • Support from others

You can have a family member, friend, advocate or interpreter with you whenever you want.

  • To speak up

You can give feedback or make a complaint at any time. It will never affect the supports you receive.
